Prior to the Captain Lawrence Inn, Iben traveled the globe as an excursion manager on Cunard cruise ships, as well as spent time guided land tours in Scotland, Morocco, Thailand, and France\.  

She has now returned to the place she considers home, Cape Cod\.

Iben now divides her time between Falmouth, Massachusetts and Washington, DC, where she works as an Executive Officer with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, and as a communications manager with Conservation International\.
