Brian and Maria originally purchased The Inn at Oxbow Acres as a family retreat—a place where their seven children and more than a dozen grandchildren could come together and create lasting memories\. Between those cherished family gatherings, they decided to share their warm and welcoming space with others by opening a bed and breakfast\.

With years of experience raising a large family, Brian and Maria are no strangers to cooking, cleaning, and creating a hospitable environment\. Maria’s passion for cooking, however, began long before she became a mother\. As a young girl, she excelled in 4\-H’s Foods & Nutrition program, earning numerous awards, including recognition at the LA County Fair\. Her mentor, California’s longest\-tenured home economics teacher, played a pivotal role in shaping Maria’s culinary skills, both in the classroom and in her home\.

Maria’s love for food and hospitality carried into her young adult years, where she worked in seven different restaurants, taking on roles ranging from server to management\. She was even part of the team that launched The Good Earth restaurant in Southern California\. Today, both Brian and Maria take pride in preparing farm\-to\-table meals, using fresh, local ingredients to craft dishes that are as wholesome as they are delicious\.
