Less than an hour north of Asheville, North Carolina, Best of Seven is located inside Mountain Air Country Club, a private community secured with a staffed gate and well\-maintained, paved roads\. The weather on Slickrock Mountain is ideal in all seasons, with spring wildflowers, a chill to the air even in mid\-summer, the brilliance of fall foliage, and picturesque snowfall in the winter\. Miles of well\-kept nature trails through an Old Growth Forest Preserve provide plenty of opportunity to get outdoors for hiking and wildlife sightings, with the convenience of shopping and dining options only 17 minutes away in Burnsville, NC\. There are several festivals in the area, including the Carolina Mountain Literary Festival and the Mt\. Mitchell Crafts Fair, held annually on the historic Burnsville Town Square\. Get outside and kayak the Toe River, go gem mining at Emerald Village \(35 min\.\), or explore the Blue Ridge Parkway\. Outdoor activities in the area are abundant, including whitewater rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, ziplining, and hiking\.
