You're in Kerns \- one of NE Portland's best\-kept secrets for food\. The neighborhood is centered around the 28th Avenue restaurant corridor, where you can walk to James Beard\-nominated dinners, authentic Cuban food, craft beer, and Vietnamese cocktails without ever needing a car\.

Han Oak is the standout \- chef Peter Cho's Korean restaurant has been featured on Netflix's Ugly Delicious and Somebody Feed Phil, and he's a multiple James Beard Award nominee\. The seasonal tasting menus are built around Oregon ingredients and Korean traditions, and late nights sometimes turn into karaoke \(seriously\)\. Book ahead \- this one fills up\. Pambiche is a Portland institution serving Cuban family recipes since 2000\. The building is impossible to miss \(painted floor\-to\-ceiling in Caribbean colors with a massive Havana mural\), and the lechón asado and mojitos are the real deal\. No reservations, just walk in\.

Friendship Kitchen does incredible Vietnamese food with creative cocktails \- the pho and bánh mì are some of the best in Portland, and the patio is great on warm evenings\. Migration Brewing is our go\-to for craft beer \- a converted radiator shop with 30 taps, garage door walls that open up in summer, and a dog\-friendly patio\. Seven Virtues Coffee Roasters is a family\-owned neighborhood roaster doing single\-origin coffee and house\-made food \- the perfect morning start\.
