Take a day trip to Asheville \(40 min\) to explore its thriving culinary and art scenes and attractions such as the Biltmore Estate and River Arts District\. Outdoor activities in the area include whitewater rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, skiing and snowboarding at Cataloochee Ski Area \(28 min\), and enjoying the 2\.3\-mile walking trail that circles Lake Junaluska \(14 min\)\. Also close by, check out Maggie Valley \(17 min\), a Smoky Mountain destination town that's home to a handful of dining and shopping options\.
