Visit downtown Hendersonville, NC, where you'll discover the Hands\-On Children's Museum, a revitalized Main Street, and plenty of shopping and fine dining options\. Flat Rock, NC, home to the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site and the Flat Rock Playhouse, is also nearby\. After a busy day spent hiking local trails in Dupont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest in nearby Brevard, known as the “Land of Waterfalls," it's a short drive home to refresh and regroup\. For an evening out, Asheville offers popular attractions such as the Biltmore Estate \(40 min\), nightlife, historic architecture, and numerous restaurants and breweries\.
