There are plenty of things to do when you stay at Shady Ridge Lodge\! The cabin is less than fifteen minutes from Maggie Valley, a Smoky Mountain destination town that’s home to a handful of dining and shopping options, and with Cherokee only forty minutes away, you can spend the day exploring Native American culture or spend an evening catching a show at Harrah’s Casino Resort\. Get outdoors and take a journey on the Blue Ridge Parkway \(access 37 minutes down the road\) to discover mountain hiking trails and spectacular waterfalls, walk the trail at Lake Junaluska \(12 minutes down the road\), or, in the winter go skiing and snowboarding at Cataloochee Ski Area \(26 minutes away\)\! Head over for a tour at the Biltmore Estate \(36 minutes\)\. The ride to Asheville is smooth sailing with easy, year\-round highway access\. Great location to I\-40 corridor\. This Asheville cabin is located in Waynesville and is approximately 34 minutes to downtown Asheville, 2,671ft above sea level\.

• 4WD/AWD Recommended\. During winter months or inclement weather, a 4WD/AWD vehicle is recommended\. We recommend one with sufficient clearance \(i\.e SUV, Truck, or raised Sedan\)\. 
• Heating at Shady Ridge Lodge is controlled by a heat\-pump, a very efficient and environmentally friendly heating method\. That being said, during colder winter nights the downstairs of the home may be cooler than anticipated due to the system's positioning within the home\. Please use fans available to circulate the heat\. Thank you in advance for your understanding\. 
• Travel Insurance is Highly Recommended\. We strongly recommend CSA Travel Insurance to protect your reservation against unexpected events such as inclement weather, medical emergencies, or travel delays\.
