We were so pleased with Hot Shot Hideaway. The house was beautifully appointed, very clean, and fully stocked with everything we needed. We cooked two meals and were impressed with the the array of pans, dishes, spices, and much more. 

The house is located in a remote and peaceful valley with stunning views, grazing horses and lots of deer to watch. 

The hosts were very responsive to requests and proactively reached out several times to make sure we were having a good stay. 

We were thrilled with our stay and hope to be back. Thanks for a great visit!

The cabin was beautiful and in a nice, secluded location. The kitchen was well stocked with dishware, pots/pans, etc.  When I arrived there was only 1 towel per person for 4 days, but the owner resolved that quickly (cleaning crew misunderstanding).  I should have asked for more toilet paper. We ran out the morning we left - only 2 rolls per bathroom. Also, the dishwasher didn’t work and the side door didn’t lock (but I let them know for future guests).

My only real complaint was the firm mattress…I didn’t sleep well and neither did my mother.  So for that reason, I wouldn’t rent this property again…the cabin is soooo serene I was bummed I didn’t sleep well. I’m just used to a hybrid (medium firm) at home, hotels and Airbnb’s since their better suited everyone - whether you sleep on your back, side or stomach. I’d also recommend bringing extra blankets if you like to sleep with more than just a quilt (my mother actually went and bought some on Black Friday for the rest of our trip).

What a beautiful spot! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with a trip to the Black Hills and loved staying at this cabin in Custer. The location is tucked away so you can really appreciate the calm and quiet of the forest, but it is close enough to town if you want to explore restaurants and shops. We were also able to do some sightseeing at Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and many more scenic views near by. One highlight from our stay was visiting with the horses that would stop by in the pasture behind the cabin each morning and evening. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay and we loved cooking with the induction stove top - how cool!

Positive: This is a beautiful secluded property near Custer State Park.  The house was super clean and cozy!  The horses roaming in the pasture right outside only added to the breathtaking view of the Black Hills.
Negative: Not the properties fault...but GPS was a little unclear initially about getting to the property, but once we figured it out it was a breeze.

THE PARTIES. This Short-Term Rental Agreement (“Agreement”) made on between the following:

1. THE PREMISES:The Host agrees to lease the described property below to the Guest, and the Guest agrees to rent from the Hos

2. LEASE TERM: The Guest shall be allowed to occupy the Premises starting {{checkin_date}} from {{checkin_time}} and ending {{checkout_date}} at {{checkout_time}} (“Lease Term”). The guest should read the guidebook sent prior to arrival. 

3. REFUND POLICY: The Host does not issue full or partial refunds without first investigating any concerns raised. Guests must allow the Host an opportunity to inspect and address any issues during their stay. Should a guest leave the property without notifying the Host or without granting access for investigation, no refund will be provided.

4. QUIET HOURS : Quiet hours are in effect from 10:00 PM until sunrise. During this time, outdoor noise must be kept to a minimum, and music or loud activities are not permitted, out of respect for neighbors.

5. OCCUPANCY: The total number of guests allowed on the Premises is {{number_of_guests}}. Exceeding the agreed-upon guest count may result in immediate termination of this Agreement. Please ensure all guests are included in your reservation so adequate towels and supplies can be prepared.

6. BOOKING &amp; CANCELLATION POLICY: The total rental amount is due as outlined during the booking process. If the Guest cancels, the Host will uphold the cancellation policy stated at the time of booking. For VRBO or direct bookings, any applicable credit card processing fees will be deducted from the refund amount.

7. SECURITY DEPOSIT: A security deposit may be held and will be refunded within 7 days after checkout, provided no damage or excessive cleaning is required. Deductions may be made for damages, missing items, or if the property is left in poor condition.

8. PET POLICY: The Host does allow pets: Any damages or extra cleaning resulting from the pet will incur an extra fee for the guest. 
9. SMOKING POLICY: Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the Premises.

10. SUBLETTING: The Guest may not sublet or assign this Agreement to any third party.

11. MAIL: Maildelivery to the property is not permitted. Guests are responsible for making alternative arrangements if needed.

12. INSPECTION &amp; TERMINATION: The Host reserves the right to inspect the Premises with appropriate notice, as allowed by law. If the Guest violates any terms of this Agreement, the Host may terminate the rental immediately, and the Guest must vacate the Premises. No refund will be issued in such cases.

13. MAINTENANCE &amp; DAMAGE: The Guest agrees to maintain the Premises in good condition and will be held responsible for any damage beyond normal wear and tear. Costs for repairs or replacement will be deducted from the security deposit.

14. TRASH DISPOSAL: All trash and recycling must be disposed of as instructed in the guidebook or by the Host.

15. NEIGHBORHOOD CONDUCT: Guests are expected to act respectfully and in a neighborly manner. Loud parties, disturbances, or disruptive behavior will result in immediate termination of the stay without refund.

16. HOST LIABILITY: The Guest assumes full responsibility for any injury or loss during the stay. The Host is not liable for accidents, injuries, or loss of personal property. Guests are encouraged to carry their own insurance coverage if desired.

17. USE OF PREMISES: The Premises may only be used for residential, short-term vacation purposes. Commercial activity of any kind is strictly prohibited.

18. ILLEGAL ACTIVITY: Any illegal activity—including drug use, violence, or inappropriate behavior—will result in immediate termination of this Agreement without refund.

19. LEFT BEHIND ITEMS: The Host is not responsible for personal items left behind. If items are found, reasonable efforts will be made to return them. A $65 fee will be required to cover shipping costs and the time of staff/cleaners to send the item back. If arrangements are not made within 14 days, any unclaimed items will be discarded.

20. SECURITY AT CHECKOUT: Guests are required to secure all windows and doors upon departure. Failure to do so may result in financial liability for any resulting damage or loss, including theft, water damage, or weather-related events.

21. GOVERNING LAW: This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state and jurisdiction in which the Premises are located.
