Judi and Walter Hauer think of themselves as Bostonians, although neither of them were raised there. Walter was born in Czechoslovakia and grew up in Germany while Judi was born and raised in Ohio. Both spent their adult lives living close to Boston, mostly in Belmont. After many years of marriage without children, their daughter, Johanna, was born in 1987 and suddenly life became more exciting. Balancing their careers as sales executives while raising and educating Johanna was further complicated by Johanna’s avid interest in figure skating...
