This place is all about the view. It can't be beat! The furnishings are in need of remodeling and updating for this particular unit. It smells a little like an old cabin. It's sufficient, but nothing fancy. Mismatched old towels, old kitchen appliances, etc. Good beach cooler and chairs, but no umbrella. The common pool and grill area is very nice....
We started every morning with coffee at the table on the porch overlooking the ocean, and one morning we spent about 5 hours just sitting and reading our books. We spent a week here and one in Poipu. For our taste this is the place. If you want to sleep on the 10th floor and sit around a crowded pool this is not for you. Yes, the unit could use some updating but for location and atmosphere Hanalei Colony can't be beat. WE WILL BE BACK!
