Or, if you want to enjoy the tide pools on a slightly smaller, less crowded beach, Breakwater Beach is particularly great for families. Other popular beaches include Ellis Landing, Linnell Landing, and Paine's Creek. Brewster is especially known for its tidal flats, which are excellent for walking at low tide or even looking for crabs, oysters, and other marine life.

There are a lot more outdoor activities to enjoy in Brewster outside of its beaches, which is great for people visiting in the spring and fall (when the water might be a little chilly). Brewster is home to Nickerson State Park, a beautiful scenic area with lots of hiking and biking trails, campsites, and ponds for fishing. There are also areas for horseback riding, boating, and swimming (weather permitting). If you're a cyclist, the Cape Cod Rail Trail runs through Brewster, stretching from the town of Dennis to Wellfleet. It's a vintage two-story vacation home with wonderful views of Cape Cod Bay from practically every room, the front yard and especially from the second level deck. The family room is on the second floor to take maximum advantage of the view. Note that the open stairway and spacing of the balusters makes the upper level inadvisable for very young or small children.

The main level of the house is home to the very well equipped kitchen with a gas range and large refrigerator.  The kitchen flows into the dining area with a water view, then out to the a "morning room," an appealing front-to-back space with seating, ideal for morning coffee and a view of the bay. 

There are two full baths, one on each level. The master bedroom is on the upper level and has a queen size bed. The other three bedrooms are on the lower level: two sets of twins and a full size double, respectably.  .
 
The path to the private neighborhood beach is directly across an unpaved cart road in front of the house. It's no more than 150 feet to the beach!  The water can come right up to the stone revetment at extreme high tide covering most if not all of the beach for a couple of hours. However you can still swim at high tide even if you cannot sit on the beach for a little while. It's good to know that the beach immediately in front of the house across the road is private to that property only.  The neighborhood beach is adjacent and to the west of that. And of course, you can walk anywhere on the beach, private or not, including straight out for more than a mile at extreme low tide.
 
The location is extremely convenient. You can walk or bike up to Route 6A in short order and find a book store, liquor store, pizza, sushi, bakery, sports bar, casual family dining, as well as a Cumberland Farms convenience store. Major grocery shopping is about a 10-15 minute drive into either Orleans or E. Harwich. 
 
Another plus: On your bike, you are just minutes away from the Cape bike trails.

Tucked out of sight from the unpaved cart way that runs by it, this expansive 5 bedroom home is situated directly on the beach on nearly an acre of privacy in an upscale Brewster bay front neighborhood. Its beach is a beautiful sandy, private, neighborhood beach and is never crowded. At low tide, kids of all ages roam and make wonderful discoveries on the famous Brewster Flats. The main level is comprised of an open, social kitchen, large living room with two separate lounge seating areas, dining room with an oversized dining table, a den/study/TV room, laundry/pantry, queen bedroom, 1 1/2 baths.  Upstairs, there are four bedrooms -- the master queen with full bath en suite, another queen bedroom, a bedroom with twins, and one with a single twin bed and work station. The lower level has a comfy TV lounge and play area for the kids, including a ping pong table. There's plenty of living space for everyone in your group up to 8.  The north side of the property overlooks the beach and Cape Cod Bay from a massive house-wide deck with built-in brick fire pit/grill. That's where you'll gather most of the time. 

There is AC - a combination of split (in-wall) and window units.  There is a detached garage on the property with an upstairs apartment which is occupied by a single Mom and her two school-age daughters that is not part of this rental.

It's a custom built home in the Ellis Landing Beach section of East Brewster with a three-minute walk to a private, neighborhood beach.

The house is a gem, maintained in tip-top shape by its meticulous owners,. Hardwood floors, central A.C.,, gas fireplace, wireless Internet, a screened porch on the main level and a rooftop deck off the master bedroom on the second level. Private full bath in the master bedroom suite also includes a Jacuzzi. The master suite has an additional room adjoining the bedroom. It was designed as a sewing room so there is no door, just a framed doorway separating the two rooms. 

In addition to the master, there are 3 other bedrooms. One bedroom (with a Queen) is on the first floor with a full bath next to it. Both the bedroom and the bath have wider doors to accommodate wheelchair access. The other two bedrooms are on the upper level, one with a queen plus bunk beds.  The other upper level bedroom has twin beds.  There is a full bath between those two bedrooms.
 
And the kitchen is beautiful – large, bright and fully equipped with best of everything. Guests who enjoy cooking love it.
 
The Ellis Landing neighborhood and beach is very popular with many families. You do need to know that there is a 20-30' wide band of stones most summers just below the high tide water line. Summer residents and vacationers clear paths through the stones so walking out to the vast sandy beach just beyond is no problem. It is functionally fine but probably not as pretty to look at. Also, when it's extreme high tide, be aware that the water can come almost up to the stone revetment, leaving little or no beach for an hour or so, but not to worry: the tide will recede in short order.
